Pyrrharctia isabella (Isabella Tiger Moth)

The forewings of the Isabella Tiger Moth are light orange, while the hindwings are whitish-yellow. Both wings have faint spots and lines. Wingspan is from 1.75 to 2.5 inches.

Pupation is in spring; adults fly from April to August. Females lay eggs on many plants, including corn, burch cabbage, and sunflower. The caterpillars or larvae are the well-known black and red Woolly Bears.
