Dotted Wolf Spider (Rabidosa punctulata)
The Dotted Wolf Spider gets its common name from the black dots on the underside of its abdomen.
Description: The body is yellowish brown. It has darker brown stripes on its carapace and a dark stripe down the middle of the back of its abdomen. Males (10 - 12 mm) are lighter in color and smaller than females (18 - 21 mm).
Habitat: This spider lives in grassy fields, marshes, and leaf litter. It hunts at night and hides by day. Its range is from southern Canada and the United States east of the Rocky Mountains.
