Ridge-faced Flower Spider (Misumenoides formosipes)
The body of this crab spider is white, yellow, light green, or tan; it is darker along the sides. In some specimens, there are red markings on the carapace and legs. This specimen has three pairs of brown spots on its back. The first two pair of legs in the male are red or brown. Males, at 2 - 3 mm, are much smaller than females, at 5 - 11 mm in length.
Habitat:This spider lives on flower heads, where it catches insects. It can change its color to match its background. It is found throughout the United States.
