Welcome to RiverWeb TM, a multifaceted, education & outreach program originating from National Center for Supercomputing Applications.

Through harnessing advanced computing and communications technologies, RiverWeb seeks to construct interdisciplinary, digital knowledge networks for the Mississippi River Basin, with the goal of empowering broad audiences to participate more actively in managing the watershed and its resources during the next century.

There are myriad stories to tell about the Mississippi. In this prototype site, we illustrate how novel web technologies can bring to life the rich history and culture of the American Bottom, a crossroads in the ever-unfolding saga of the river and its peoples.
