Bunker at Midewin, NTP
Bunker at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. This site is in the early stages of prairie restoration.

People restoring prairies try to establish a stable ecosystem - one with a diversity of plants and animals that is able to sustain itself with the least amount of labor throughout the year. The site must be planned, and seeds must be ordered or gathered and planted. There are also other considerations for prairie restoration, especially size and use of fire.

Prairie restoration takes time. A site can take 3 years to 50 years before it looks and feels like a prairie.
