Duck Hunting Guns
The essential tool for duck hunting is the gun. The most popular guns for waterfowl hunting have been the single-barrel and double-barrel shotgun. The collection of the Illinois State Museum contains many examples. They range from economical models sold by Sears to expensive European models.

The Museum's Collection also houses an example of a punt gun used by market hunters. It is rather crudely built from iron pipe, but its purpose was to kill as many ducks with one shot as possible.
