More than one million of these Winchester Model 1897s were produced from 1897 to 1957 (half of them before 1920). The 12-gauge barrel is thirty inches long. The stock and slide (pump) are oil-stained walnut. This model became the best selling slide action shotgun of its time. It replaced the 1893, which sold for about $25.00.
