  Oscar Alford (1883-1962)
Beardstown, Illinois

Oscar Alford made only thirty-six decoys, all mallards, for personal use. These mallards have distinctive long, graceful necks and rounded heads. Oscar and sons Howard and Glen modeled their feather patterns after live models they kept in cages.

Alford also made a few walnut duck calls in the Beardstown style.

798978, 798977 (mallard pair)
