Civil War Era Quilts
The Southern Illinois Art and Artisans Center at Rend Lake will present seventeen rarely-seen Civil War era quilts from the Illinois State Museum collections. A few of these quilts are recent gifts to the collection, and others have never before been exhibited. These needlework masterpieces will provide an insight into the lives of women on the home front enduring the hardships of the war. The exhibition runs March 20, 2011 through October 30, 2011.
