Adult Workshop: Painting in Pure Pigment: Introduction to Pastels

Instructor: Tracey Maras
In this two day seminar Tracey will teach techniques for using dry pastels. Students will have the opportunity to create two small pastel paintings and one medium-sized pastel painting during the workshop.
"This 2-day workshop is designed to introduce the use of soft (dry) pastels in creating paintings. No previous experience with pastels, or even painting, is required. I will be providing instruction on the basics of pastels, including the various ways that pastels can be manipulated and the variety of materials that are available. Painting with pastels offers so many different approaches and results in so many exciting styles, ranging from abstracts to impressionistic to finely detailed realism! And it’s just plain fun!"
Tuition $140, includes dry pastels or $120 if students bring their own dry pastels. Supply list available, minimum of 6.
