Brownbag Lectures: A Hoosier in Italy
- Location: ISM Research & Collections Center, Springfield
- Date: Wednesday, March 18, 2015, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Presented by Leah Street, Monticello Intern in Education, Illinois State Museum
Italy, an impressive country famous for its historic cities, fabulous food, beautiful countryside, and iconic culture is a place many people hope to visit. However, very few people have the opportunity to spend over three months living with a host family completely immersed in Italian culture. Come hear how all the cultural differences and observations helped this young educator grow as an individual, become a global citizen, and develop a love for Il bel paese (The Beautiful Country).
