Brownbag Lectures: Fragile Relations: Art + Nature + Environment
- Location: ISM Research & Collections Center, Springfield
- Date: Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Presented by Jane Stevens, Associate Curator & Gallery Administrator, Illinois State Museum Chicago Gallery
Hear Jane Stevens, curator of the "Fragile Relations" exhibition, provide commentary on this exciting new exhibition at the Illinois State Museum. "Fragile Relations" highlights the work of fourteen Illinois artists who are inspired by nature and the environment and show diverse ways of perceiving and experiencing the world. Through their work these artists delve into both the internal (or personal) and external (or shared) environments. Objects vary from paintings to photographs, sculpture to installations, and even an 8' tall self portrait of one of the artists made from over 7,000 plastic bottle caps!
