Crafty? Help @ Super Saturday Posted Monday, March 02, 2015

Do you enjoy helping children with crafts and games? Super Saturday is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11 am - 3 pm. Super Saturday volunteers must be adults, or youth ages 12 and older. Spring into volunteering at the Play Museum! The Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum is an exciting space where children ages 3-10 can learn -- through play -- about art, people, and nature. Friendly, energetic volunteers are needed to greet and interact with families and groups and keep the exhibit neat. Volunteers must be adults or teens 13 and up and able to work 2 shifts a month. Feather Distribution Project Posted Monday, March 02, 2015

The Museum seeks adult volunteers to help with The Feather Distribution Project, which provides macaw, parrot, and wild turkey feathers to Native American peoples free-of-charge. Volunteers are needed to sort feathers for 1-3 hours at a time, preferably on Wednesdays, during normal business hours. Volunteers must be able to pay close attention to detail, have good color vision, and no feather allergies. Training is provided. This position is located at the Museum’s Research & Collections Center in Springfield. This is a good opportunity for someone interested in traditional Native American cultures. Marketing Assistant Volunteer Posted Monday, March 02, 2015

Help us get the word out... an adult volunteer (age 18+) is needed to distribute brochures & posters to local businesses and organizations. This position requires: excellent oral communication skills (i.e. talking to new people); the ability to carry posters, brochures and other materials; discovering where materials can be displayed; and seeking out new venues. The volunteer must be able to read a map and find specific businesses and locations & have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and vehicle insurance. Gas, parking, and other expenses are not reimbursed. This task takes about 3 hours/month. Hours can be scheduled Monday – Saturday, morning or afternoon. Training provided.
