  • Location: Illinois State Museum, Springfield, Springfield
  • Date: Sunday, June 21, 2015, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

On Father’s Day, the Illinois State Museum will welcome visiting New York artist and author Michael Albert, as he travels from his home in White Plains to Kansas City for his 10-state “Modern Pop Art Experience” tour.

Children and families are invited to drop-in between noon and 4:00 p.m. on June 21st to create a fun and unique cereal box collage, meet the artist, and receive a free signed print. Visitors can also watch Albert create an original work throughout the event

Michael Albert has been creating art since his college days at New York University. His art has evolved from doodles and pen & ink, to serious wax oil drawings, to his popular cubist mosaic cereal box collages. Recently he has been creating large scale "Epic" collage works on various themes including historical and literary works. These cereal box collages are the inspiration for his tour and for the program at the Illinois State Museum.
