Satur-Play! - Go Fish?

Every Saturday is Super!
Experience Satur-Play! at the Illinois State Museum. Be drawn in by fun science experiments and art projects so entertaining and intriguing, you may forget you are learning! Recommended for the whole family and suggested for ages 3-10.

May Satur-Play! Activities:

May 2 - Letters to Lincoln Join us as we create letters and post cards related to Springfield’s one and only beloved Lincoln. We will have Lincoln postage stamps at hand!

May 9 - Sticky Letters! Have you ever found your child sticking alphabet letters to the side of the tub? Let’s learn about adhesion verses cohesion and stick letters to the side of the Illinois State Museum building!

May 16 - Fun Flight! Have you ever stomped a rocket 100 feet in the air? Find out what you need to become a “rocket scientist!”

May 23 - Art of Kite Making! Love seeing beautiful, colorful kites soar through the air? Come and create your own kite!

May 30 - Go Fish? Let’s go on an imaginary fishing trip in the Play Museum! Catch and name that fish! Watch out! You might just find a mudpuppy or mussel, too!

Satur-Play! is an engaging hands-on enhancement program for the Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum at the Illinois State Museum. This exciting new program features science and art activities that children and families can participate in while visiting the Play Museum. A different theme and activity will be offered each week on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Registration is not required. Free and open to the public.
