Every Saturday is Super!
Experience Satur-Play! at the Illinois State Museum. Be drawn in by fun science experiments and art projects so entertaining and intriguing, you may forget you are learning! Recommended for the whole family and suggested for ages 3-10.

January Activities:

January 3 - Blubber Glove: Ever wonder how seals stay warm in the arctic? Join us for this cold weather experiment!

January 10 - Fossil Finds: Think like you lived during the Ice Ages! Find out how to tell the difference between a Mastodont and a Mammoth tooth!

January 17 - Snowman: Make and take your very own snowman that is perfect for the cold season!

January 24 - Snow Art: Using simple shaving cream as our "snowy base" make a picture that is worthy of hanging on the fridge!

January 31 - Glaciers: Ever wondered how mountains and valleys were formed from a huge hunk of ice called a Glacier? Let's learn about glaciers and see what they can do on a small scale too!

Satur-Play! is an engaging hands-on enhancement program for the Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum at the Illinois State Museum. This exciting new program features science and art activities that children and families can participate in while visiting the Play Museum. A different theme and activity will be offered each week on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Registration is not required. Free and open to the public. For more information, call the Education Section at (217) 782-5955.
