Danenberger Family Vineyards
Susan Danenberger and her family have a passion for grapes, wine and food. It is a part of their lifestyle, and they love to share it. Susan creates artisan wines, specializing in dry blends combining vinifera and hybrids. The majority of the Danenberger’s grapes come from Illinois. Their own grapes are plucked by hand, using sustainable farming practices. What started as a hobby has quickly become the center of their universe and has transformed the family farm – a farm established in the mid-1800s. Susan will be on hand this evening to teach you about the art and science behind the creation of their award winning wines. If you aren’t a part of the #DFVcult yet, you’ll know what it is soon enough!

Satur-Play! for Grown-Ups
It’s a solid… it’s a liquid… it’s Oobleck! Kids aren’t the only ones who learn through play! Strike and stretch Oobleck and watch it transform quickly from liquid to solid and then back again. Also create a fashionable set of environmentally conscious earrings -- all through the science of art and the art of science! Discover what you can learn through simple chemistry, make-and-takes, and fun!

Shot of Whiskey Tribe
Sarah Schneider, Erin Steinhauer, Mike Taft, Brian Steinhauer, and Bruce Williams have recently joined forces to bring you a new local sound. The talented line-up that is the Shot of Whiskey Tribe describes their music as a fusion of folk, classic rock, and alternative. Hear them here.

Cooper’s StrEATside Bistro Food Truck
After rave reviews from First Friday goers, the Coopers are back! Justin Cooper is a food lover at heart with over 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Justin’s passion for food started at a young age on his family’s 7th generation family farm and, today, his passion has led him to explore new creations – which he shares with us via food truck! His background has inspired him to serve local and fresh food whenever possible, including his cousin’s local beef. Purchase your food “strEATside” and enjoy it inside the museum!

New Art Exhibits
Experience the creative process, long before brush comes to canvas. Our latest art exhibition, Sketches, Journals, Preparations… Everything in Placecurated by Jennifer Jaskowiak, focuses on the preparatory materials kept “at hand” that both inspire and document the creative process. The exhibition includes the work, some of which was never intended for exhibition, of 30 artists. AUDUBON: Selected Prints from the Collection is on display in our temporary|PERMANENT gallery. The show, curated by Art & History Director Jim Zimmer, exhibits John James Audubon prints that feature extinct, endangered, or compromised bird species in honor of the 100th anniversary of the passing of the last passenger pigeon. Find both exhibits on the second floor.

Illinois Artisan Cookie Ferratier
Cookie Ferratier is a local watercolorist and pastelist who loves to create abstract and semi-abstract work. Rather than creating a realistic representation of a subject, she interprets and expresses it through visual art. Her subjects are animals, fruits or vegetables, landscapes, plants, or simply pure abstracts. Find Cookie and her vibrant pieces in the Museum Store!

POUR Bar
Shake, rattle, & POUR! Pour Bar Services provides expert bartending services for special events in Central Illinois as well as the Governor’s Ballroom. Relax and enjoy a glass of local wine – or any drink of your choice from this fully catered bar. Some of the best bartenders in our area are at your service!
