Discover Art. Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2PM a new space on the museum's second floor will be unveiled. Temporary/Permanent will allow visitors to encounter a series of three-month temporary exhibitions representing a broad variety of fine and decorative arts from the permanent collection. Its inaugural exhibition will highlight paintings by one of Illinois' premier portrait painters of the 19th century, George Peter Alexander Healy, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of his birth. Notable portraits: Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Henry W. Longfellow, Daniel Webster and more.
