Celebrate the Summer Solstice

Wake up early on Sunday, June 21, 2015 ( 5:00 a.m.-6:30 a.m.) to welcome the first day of summer at Dickson Mounds Museum, when the sun is at its highest point and casts the longest period of daylight in a twenty-four period.
Celebrate the Summer Solstice begins at 5:00 am at the Museum. Enjoy the sunrise from the Museum’s observation deck and live music by musician and composer Paul Adams whose music runs in genres such as Fingerstyle Guitar, World Fusion, New Age, and Jazz. His albums have gathered international acclaim in many different areas, including Ambient and Native American.
The event is free and all ages are welcome. Registration is not required. Light refreshments will be served.
The Illinois State Museum - Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day.
