Nature Explorers Camp for Kids

  • Location: ISM Dickson Mounds Museum, Lewistown
  • Date: Wednesday, June 25, 2014 through Thursday, June 26, 2014 , 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Dickson Mounds Museum is hosting Nature Explorers, a summer camp experience, for kids ages 7-9 years old on Wednesday & Thursday, June 25 & 26, 2014 from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Participants will explore the Illinois River Valley and learn how people survived here thousands of years ago. Kids may enjoy hiking, learning about native and non-native plant and animal species, and geology.

Registration is required with a deadline of June 11, 2014. Space is limited. The fee is $20 for Illinois State Museum Society members and $30 for non-members. Activities will be held indoors and outdoors in hot, humid weather. Participants are required to provide their own snacks. Call the Museum at 309-547-3721 for more information or to register.

The Illinois State Museum - Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day.
