A Taste of Archaeology for Teens

  • Location: ISM Dickson Mounds Museum, Lewistown
  • Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2014 through Thursday, June 12, 2014 , 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Gain experience as a young archaeologist. Work alongside professional archaeologists. Participate in an excavation, discover artifacts, and learn how to identify, clean, organize, and sort your finds. Registration is required with a deadline of May 28, 2014 and the program has a maximum of 10 participants. Activities will be held indoors and outdoors in hot, humid, dusty conditions. Participants are required to provide their own sack lunch and snacks. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America are highly encouraged to participate in this program. If may fulfill some badge requirements. Call the Museum at 309-547-3721 to register. For ages 13-17 years old. Fee: $35 for ISMS members; $45 for non-members.
