A Taste of Archaeology for Adults

Dickson Mounds Museum is hosting a summer camp experience for adults, A Taste of Archaeology, June 3 – 5, 2014 from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Participants will work alongside professional archaeologists excavating at the nearby Morton Village Site to discover artifacts and learn how to identify, clean, organize, and sort their finds.

Registration is required with a deadline of May 21, 2014 and the program has a maximum of 10 participants. The fee is $50 for Illinois State Museum Society members and $60 for nonmembers. Activities will be held indoors and outdoors in hot, humid, dusty conditions. Participants provide their own sack lunch, snacks, and drinks. Teachers may earn certified professional development units for participation in this workshop. Call the Museum at 309-547-3721 to register.
