Dickson Mounds Museum is hosting a new summer program series for kids ages 9-11 years old. The Summer Fun Friday topic on July 18, 2014 will be “Skulls, Skins, Scat & Tracks - Oh My!”. Participants will learn how to identify various animals using skulls, skins, scat, and tracks.
Registration is required with a deadline of Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Call the museum at 309-547-3721 to register. The fee is $3 for Illinois State Museum Society members and $5 for non-members. Participants must provide their own snacks and drinks and dress appropriately for the outdoors. The Summer Fun Friday program series will be offered every Friday - June 13, 2014 to July 25, 2014 (except July 4th) from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. with a different topic featured each week. The Illinois State Museum - Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day.
