Nature Exploration

  • Location: ISM Dickson Mounds Museum, Lewistown
  • Date: Tuesday, March 11, 2014 through Wednesday, March 12, 2014 , 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Dickson Mounds Museum presents Nature Exploration on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11 & 12, 2014 for kids ages 9-12 years old. Participants may enjoy exploring the natural world around them at the Museum and learn how a variety of creatures live in the Illinois River Valley in the early spring. Kids will also learn techniques to observe and study nature.

The program is from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm both days and the fee is $5 for ISMS members and $8 for non-members per day. Registration is required as space is limited. Participants may register for individual days if unable to attend both days. Each participant will be responsible for bringing their own snacks, drinks, and lunch. Some activities may be held outdoors.

The Illinois State Museum - Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day.
