  • Location: ISM Dickson Mounds Museum, Lewistown
  • Date: Saturday, March 01, 2014 through Sunday, March 02, 2014 , 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Dickson Mounds Museum will host our first ever Weekend Knap-In Saturday and Sunday, March 1, 2, 2014 from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.  The public is welcome to view flint knapping demonstrations and ask questions about this ancient form of technology.  Participants may learn about the different techniques used by several craftsmen and see their stone tool creations.  Blades from the Mackinaw-Aldrich Cache discovered in 1916 near Mackinaw in Tazewell County will also be on display.

Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.  Flint Knappers interested in participating may contact Christa Christensen at 309-547-3721 for information regarding food and lodging.  No fees are required.
