A Taste of Archaeology for Teens

  • Location: ISM Dickson Mounds Museum, Lewistown
  • Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2013 through Thursday, June 20, 2013 , 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Gain experience as a young archaeologist. Participate in an excavation and learn how to identify, clean, organize, and sort artifacts. Work alongside professional archaeologists. Registration is required with a deadline of June 3, 2013 and the program has a maximum of 10 participants. Activities will be held indoors and outdoors in hot, humid, dusty conditions. Participants are required to provide their own sack lunch and snacks. Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America are highly encouraged to participate in this program. It may fulfill some badge requirements. Call the Museum at 309-547-3721 to register. The program will be held Tuesday, June 18 - Thursday, June 20 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fee: $35 for ISMS members; $45 for non-members. Age: 13-16 years old.
