Second Sunday Science Lecture Series: Where Are the Ducks?

Aaron Yetter, Illinois Natural History Survey, Forbes Biological Station, will present a lecture titled: “Aerial Waterfowl Surveys and Ecology and Management of Fall-Migrating Mallards in the Illinois Valley” at Dickson Mounds Museum on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  This is an opportunity for those interested in duck migration to learn more about the subject.  Yetter’s presentation is part of the Second Sunday Science Lecture Series, which is co-hosted by the University of Illinois-Therkildsen Field Station and Dickson Mounds Museum.
 
Yetter is part of the research team at the Forbes Biological Station & Frank C. Bellrose Waterfowl Research Center in Havana, IL. Aaron received his BS (1989) and MS (1992) degrees in Zoology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Aaron’s research interests include aerial surveys of wetland birds, energetic carrying capacity of wetlands for waterfowl, foraging thresholds of spring-migrating dabbling ducks, migration and nesting ecology of waterfowl, shorebird foraging ecology, and wetland management.
