Art Spree Spotlight: Sue Dix of Hoffman Estates has worked in clay for over a decade and juried into the Illinois Artisans Program in 2013:

Within my first few months of working with clay, I realized that I had found the creative outlet I had been searching for.  Working with clay provides the range of possibilities and a visceral enjoyment that appeal to me in a way that my previous creative efforts had never provided.  In clay, I can create three-dimensional pieces on the wheel.  I can preserve the beauty of a leaf.  I can make the small trays that are my blank canvases to paint on in underglaze.”
