Coreopsis tripteris (Tall Coreopsis)
Tall Coreopsis grows in moist to mesic prairies to an average height of three feet, but may reach eight feet. The opposite leaves resemble bean family leaves with their three leaflets. The flower head consists of stalked flowers at the top of the plant. Each head is from one to two inches across and consists of usually eight yellow ray flowers around a brown disk. They flower from summer to early fall.
