Quercus alba (White Oak)
White oak grows in the eastern half of the United States from southern New England to northern Florida. It grows to 100 feet tall and three to four feet in diameter in moist, well-drained uplands and lowlands. Leaves are four to ine inches long, elliptical lin shape, with five to nine lobes. The underside is gray-green. The bark is light gray in broad scales or plates. Acorns from 3/8" to 1 1/4" long have shallow caps and hairy scales.
