Calamagrostis canadensis (Bluejoint Reedgrass)
This tall specimen of Bluejoint Reedgrass shows a shallow root. This plant grows in open swamps, wet prairies and meadows across the tallgrass prairie region. Bluish leaves are long and narrow. Stems branch and end in spikelets of tiny single flowers that bloom in early to midsummer.
