Matanzas
Late Archaic (6000-3000 B.C.) dart point. Matanzas points are found throughout Illinois, portions of bordering states, and into Ohio. They are commonly found along the major rivers, such as the Mississippi, Illinois, lower Missouri, or Ohio. This point type is widely distributed across the landscape from floodplains to the uplands.
