At a minimum, each record consists of: Date of Transaction, name of grantee or purchasor, number of acres, price per acre, total price, legal description, type of transaction, and volume and page.

Occasionally the county or state of the grantee was coded. Three additional varables were added: a 1-character to indicate the sex of the grantee, a unique index record number, and a numeric code indicating the present-day county.
