Sympetrum ambiguum (Blue-Faced Meadowhawk)
Total length = 37mm
male

The small, Blue-Faced Meadowhawk has a white face with a turquoise forehead. The abdomen is reddish-brown; the wings are clear.

This uncommon species can be seen from June through October around marshes, bogs, and fens, and sometimes ponds and lakes.
