Archaic Society

Hunting & Gathering Society

Archaic peoples coelesced seasonally at some locations where resources were abundant. During the late summer, for example, abundant plant and animal resources from freshwater and floodplain environments attracted bands of Archaic hunters who could reside together during this period of seasonal plenty. At other times of the year when food resources were more widely dispersed, the bands of Archaic peoples divided into smaller groups
