William Hauser (1860-1939)
Meredosia area

Hauser was a ferry operator in the Meredosia area who also made decoys and rented them and his boats to hunters. His decoys are characterized as simple, sturdy and effective. The basic squared shapes are painted in greyish-white and dark green paint. He carved his initials 'WH' into the shoulder area of the decoy.
