Redhead ducks
Redheads, Bartlett Kassabaum 1984. Zoom in on Redhead ducks
Duck hunting has been important in the central Illinois River Valley since the Native Americans harvested waterfowl. Commercial and sport duck hunting have flourished since the late 1800s. See and hear about the hunters, the ducks, the tools, and the excitement of the hunt, through video clips and taped interview excerpts. The museums' collections include objects such as decoys, guns, boats, and photographs of hunting excursions. A first-person narrative details sport hunting on Meredosia Island from a local's perspective.
