November 26,27,28 - Holiday Open House, It's time to "Shop Illinois." Begin your holiday shopping by purchasing a gift made in Illinois. Give a gift of fine craft to someone this holiday season. Artisans will be demonstrating all weekend and refreshments will be served. A special discount for all Friends of the Illinois Artisans/Illinois State Museum Society members at all Shops and Museum stores. If you are not a member, please consider joining and become a "Friend of the Illinois Artisans." For more information, please call (618) 629-2220.

During our "Holiday Open House" many artists will be present demonstrating from 10am-3pm. Some of the artists are:

Rhonda Lemay of Belleville will be demonstrating glass bead making using a propane torch, Missy Carstens of Marion will demonstrate her unique style of painting, Judy Jones of Richview will be spinning wool from sheep raised on her own farm, award winning Wheat Elder of Salem will demonstrate oil painting and Karen Linduska of Carbondale will be machine quilting. Using a thought or a feeling, Karen turns it into a beautiful quilt.
