Brownbag Lectures: At Home in the Illinois Country: Recent Archaeology at French Colonial Sites in Southern Illinois

Presented by Robert Mazrim, Illinois State Archaeological Survey, Adjunct Research Associate, ISM Robert Mazrim will discuss the findings made during several seasons of research-based archaeology in the French Colonial District of Illinois. The presentation will include 18th century home sites from the villages of Cahokia and Prairie du Rocher, which are featured in Mazrim's new book At Home in the Illinois Country, published by the University of Illinois.

Weekly lectures held at the Museum's Research and Collections Center. Lectures are usually held during lunchtime on Wednesday. The RCC is located at 1011 E. Ash Street in Springfield. Access to the building is from 10 ½ Street (between Ash and Laurel Streets), where there is ample visitor parking in the west parking lot. For more information, please call 217-785-0037.
