Join us as we glimpse into the natural history and human history of the Illinois River Valley. Trip highlights include. - Duck Island Quarry, Rice Lake - Ice Age boulders record a colossal flood
- Copperas Creek Lock, Banner - Built in 1876 to turn a trickle into a navigable stream
- Mule-led Canal Boat Cruise - Modern replica of a canal packet travels back in time
- Washington Park, Utica - Lincoln and Douglas debated here in 1858
- Reddick Mansion - A reminder of a bygone era in the building of America
- Belle of the Rock Paddleboat Cruise - See le rocher from the river and the location of aboriginal settlements
- Grundy County Historical Society Museum, Morris - see rare relic reminders of the river's ancient past
- Briscoe Mounds - The remains of a 700-year-old village on the bank of the Des Plaines
