My Neighborhood, My Family, Myself

The Illinois State Museum will host a free family event, My Neighborhood, My Family, Myself. Celebrate family, community, and your own unique abilities through the creation of art and other hands-on activities during this event in conjunction with the contemporary art exhibition Across the Divide: Reconsidering the Other. Children, families, and friends will have an opportunity to bond together through fun activities such as a family tree mobile, a handprint mural, a family photo booth, and cooperative art activities.

At 11:30 the Springfield Urban League's Lil Misses and Miracle Temple's Ladies of Praise youth dance groups will perform hip hop and gospel related dance.

At 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., Victor Pacini, award-winning singer and artist, will give dynamic interactive performances. Through singing and audience participation, Victor will inspire children and adults to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and never give up. You won't want to miss this amazing performance.
