Butterflies!

Free Family Event Join us for an event all about butterflies and moths. Create butterfly crafts, see butterflies and moths from the Museum’s collection, test your identification skills to find endangered butterflies and moths, and more. At 11:00 am and 2:00 pm visitors will help release over 100 live Painted Lady butterflies in front of the Museum. At Noon and 1:00 pm, educator Julie Ann Bice will present “The SECRETS of Butterflies” in Thorne Deuel Auditorium. During this interactive program children and their families will learn about - The flowers, tastes, and colors butterflies love,
- The Monarch life-cycle through song and dance,
- And how to raise a Monarch caterpillar....and let it fly!
