Meet the Artist: Barbara Crane

ISM Lockport Gallery offers a variety of free public events that explore ideas and themes related to the exhibition. Come meet the artist Barbara Crane from the exhibition The Grammar of Landscape: Photographic Visions of Illinois. This event begins at 2:00 pm, will last approximately one hour, and is free and open to the public. A native of Chicago, Barbara Crane has worked as a photographer for over 50 years creating highly formal, often abstracted images of people and the urban landscape. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to experimentation and innovation in content, technique, materials, and format. Crane taught for 28 years at the School of the Art Institute, and her work has been included in almost 300 exhibitions.
