Hickory Ridge Concert Series: Featuring Banjoulele for December

Lewistown, IL – Celebrate the holidays the old time way at the Hickory Ridge Concert Series as Illinois string band Banjoulele takes the stage Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. One of the finest Illinois string bands around, Banjoulele is best known for keeping Illinois’ rich tradition of fiddle music alive and well represented. With Dale Evans on claw hammer banjo, Ed Hawkes on guitar, Martha Tyner on fiddle and mandolin, and Laura Sleade on fiddle, they perform lively fiddle tunes and historical songs that make for an evening of toe-tappin, knee-slappin, down-home fun!
Featuring Former members of the historic Allen St. String band, Banjoulele has performed at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and the Lincoln Home as well as festival and dances across Central Illinois. Series host Chris Vallillo will be there to keep the season merry with traditional Christmas music.
