French-American Cultural Exchange Exhibition - ISM Museums and Galleries
All our exibitions are organized and developed by our curatorial staff and participation in an exhibition is by invitation of the curators. We are happy to consider your work or your exhibition proposal if you are an artist that resides in the state of Illinois, or your proposal has a connection with Illinois history. French-American Cultural Exchange Exhibition
The Le Genie de la Bastille, a cooperative group of French artists who are based in the 11th arrondisement of Paris will be exhibiting art work from Monday, July 25 - Friday, July 29, 2011 in the James R. Thompson Center Atrium. The artists are part of a cultural exchange with Chicago artists this summer in conjunction with ARC Gallery, Chicago. Tuesday, July 26, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Special Reception for French Artists and Guests. Free and open to the public. Wednesday , July 27, from noon to 1:00 p.m. — The French artists will discuss their work in the Shared Conference Room on the second floor. Most of the artists are installation artists who work with environmental issues and will have slides of their work to present. This event is a collaboration with the ARC Gallery exhibition. The French Embassy of Chicago and the French Embassy in Paris are partially sponsoring this cultural exchange. This event is free and open to the public.
