- Location: ISM Chicago Gallery, Chicago
- Date: Thursday, November 19, 2009 through Friday, November 20, 2009 , 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
On Thursday and Friday, November 19 and 20, 2009, David L. Johnson of the Illinois Artisan Shop will do a demonstration of his paper-bead necklace making technique from 12 noon to 2 P.M. both days. This event, held co-jointly by the Illinois State Museum Chicago Gallery and the Illinois Artisan Program, is free and open to the public. Johnson's paper beads are created from digital images derived from a variety of sources. This demonstration is site-specific to the James R. Thompson Center—images used in the creation of the beads will be from photographs taken in and around the building itself. The beads will be transformed into a line of Thompson Center jewelry. Please join us for this special event taking place from noon to 2 P.M. in the front gallery of the Illinois State Museum's current exhibit, The Urge to Embellish which is up until December 30, 2009.
