Pycnanthemum verticillatum (var. pilosum) (Hairy Mountain Mint)
Hairy Mountain Mint grows in dry to moist prairies and open woodlands. It can grow to four feet tall on square, hairy stems that have leafy branches. The opposite leaves have a round base and taper to a point. Each white-to-purple flowers consists of a tiny three-lobed tube-like corolla and a hairy, green calyx. Flowers cluster closely. They bloom from mid- to late summer.
