This specimen of Sawtooth Sunflower probably measures almost five feet tall. It was collected in 1898.
Sawtooth Sunflower blooms from midsummer into fall with three-inch wide flower heads made up of a dark disk surrounded by 10 to 20 yellow ray flowers.
