Amorpha canescens (Lead Plant)
This purple-flowering shrub grows to three feet tall in dry to mesic prairies. It blooms in late spring through summer. Each flower spike has tiny flowers with one 1/4" long curling petal that surrounds ten stamens. Each leaflet is oppositely pinnate and hairy in texture.
