Felix Ruvolo (1912 - 1992)

Felix Ruvolo was born in New York City, but was raised until the age of twelve by grandparents in Sicily. When he returned to the United States, his family moved to Chicago. Felix studied art privately, then at the Art Institute (where he taught from 1945-48). He worked for the Illinois WPA easel program. He exhibited regularly at regional and national museums and galleries. By 1950 he was exhibiting internationally. He moved to California and taught at Berkeley.
